It’s always exciting to get back in the studio – I was lucky enough to have done that recently with friend and fellow artist Luis Garcia-Nerey. He is an extremely talented, local artist whom I’ve admired for several years now. He was invited to do a window display for Art Basel on Lincoln Road for the Art Center . He created a large scale sculpture made from cardboard, found wood, and a piano. It was an honor to help him with this project – please take some time to check him out either on his website or in his studio in the Art Center on Lincoln Road. Enjoy the video that was made during the install of the piece – Thanks again Luis!

The McVays are moving to Hawaii and I couldn’t imagine them leaving without a board for Maddy to learn to ride on. It was my first board, and now it’s hers. It was fun to paint and I hope it will bring many smiles and new memories to the McVays. Love you all - Merry Christmas, Safe travels and Just Keep Paddling.

I was given the opportunity to paint a blank Bustin Board: Based out of NYC Bustin Boards make amazing original decks that you can customize yourself. Rick Sanchez, approached me and asked me to paint a crowned crane on his blank. I was more than honored, and this is what came of it. Thanks Rick!

I am inspired by the daily beauty of my surroundings. Yesterday I sat down, sketchbook and pen and started drawing. Then went for a walk down Lincoln Road snapped some pictures of things that interested me, and it all made sense.

I finally got around to painting some fun shaped old school decks from Ride 207 with images that simply make me smile. The fish painting is influenced by a calendar that I recently bought by Taschen and the truck is a momento from Portland, Maine. If you are interested in purchasing either of these decks please feel free to contact me.

The MOCA has invited our Quiksilver shop to do a mini Pop Up shop in the museum. With an amazing team, a great sandwich break at LALAs Bakery, and a few hours of work, we transformed an empty gift shop into a surf shop with roots. The grand opening and big event is tomorrow, Saturday night from 8 pm- 12 am. We’ll be selling surfboards, skateboards, and just about everything else you can imagine a perfect mini shop would have. Thank you to Gary Kessler, Sofia Rajan, Diogo Montrarollo and Alejandro Gonzalez for the opportunity to be a part of this ! A few team mates along with myself will be there tomorrow night. Aloha!
